The Fluke Norma 6000 Series Portable Wideband Precision Power Analyzers give you more freedom than ever before to make high accuracy power measurements wherever you need to—whether in the lab, or in the field. Designed for portability the lightweight, battery powered Fluke 6000 Series eliminates the need to carry large, fragile, expensive analyzers into the field, allowing you to make measurements directly at the load in nearly any environment. By measuring directly at the load, you can discover how the equipment operates under real-world conditions, with real-world variables, not just at a test bench or in the lab.

Fluke 6003 Power Analyzer

The Fluke 6003 includes three measurement channels which each consist of a voltage and current input making it ideal for three-phase power measurements.

Fluke 6004 Power Analyzer

The Fluke 6004 includes four measurement channels giving it the capability to measure three-phase power and DC power simultaneously to enable real-time inverter efficiency measurements under real-world conditions.

Fluke 6003+ and Fluke 6004+ Power Analyzer

The Fluke 6003+ and 6004+ models both add the capability to measure mechanical parameters such as speed and torque (from separate transducers) to discover the electrical to mechanical efficiency of the load under a variety of typical operating modes.

With the addition of optional measurement accessories, you can even make measurements up to 1,500V DC and 2,000A AC+DC on conductors with a diameter of up to 52mm. The instrument’s compact, battery-powered design combined with a wideband frequency response makes it easier than ever to make measurements on hard to access systems such as inverter drive systems, DC-AC and AC-DC power conversion systems and electric motors without removing them from service. Fluke Norma 6000 Series Portable Power Analyzers

Traditional energy resources are shrinking and cost of the same is increasing. Environmental concerns are recognized and support for renewable energy sources and projects are increasing day by day. With the increasing demand for clean and renewable energy, there increases the challenges of measurements for interoperability of the grid and the subsystems. This calls for newer technology products and systems for meeting the new measurement challenges.

Most of the clean or renewable energy sources and systems use inverter technology to produce grid quality AC power. Since the renewable power sources are connected to the grid, testing the quality and reliability of the renewable power system components and quality of the power produced by it gains paramount importance for the reliability of the grid itself. The clean energy technology converts the primary DC inputs generated by the solar panels or the wind turbines through the power electronics components and later fed into a commercial electrical grid or used by a local, off-grid electrical network. To verify and compare the performance of such inverters, simultaneous measurement of DC, AC and the high frequency switching signals is important.

Such measurement calls for highly accurate instruments with higher bandwidth and higher isolations levels. Synchronous measurement of input and output signals are required to get the precise efficiency of the systems. These all were possible in a laboratory environment with a wideband width power analyzers like the NORMA 5000. However, few laboratory grade instruments lack the safety requirements and form factors to take the measurements in the field.

With the introduction of Fluke NORMA 6000 series portable power analyzers, Fluke has integrated the performance of a high performance wide bandwidth power analyzer into a highly portable battery operated unit. Now the user can use the same instrument for laboratory and for field performance verifications of such complicated systems. The new NORMA 6000 series is capable of measuring up to 1500VDC and 2000A DC through its additional accessories.

Variable frequency drives (VFD) are an integral part of modern industrial setup. These state of the art technology products are becoming an important asset helping plants run more efficiently. VFDs use power electronics components like IGBT, SCRs and technologies to convert the fixed utility frequency into a variable frequency output to control the motors connected to it. Though the VFDs helps the motors work efficiently, it comes with its share of power quality and reliability issues due to the high frequency switching systems incorporated in it.
